Online tutoring and Me in a glance!
Online tutoring is the course of tutoring in
an online, virtual environment in which tutor and learner are separated by real-time and real space. However, they can meet in an online space, in real-time or maybe not.
In addition, there many terms out there meaning, more or
less, the same thing as online tutoring. Here are a few: live online tutoring, online tutorial, e-moderating, e-tutorial,
e-tutoring, online training, distance education, synchronous distance
education, asynchronous distance education or synchronous online tutoring and asynchronous
online tutoring.
Through My iTutoring, I provide both real-time, face-to-face, synchronous
tutoring services and asynchronous online tutoring. The first is delivered via the form of Online
Live Sessions, and the second of Homework Check Sessions.
Online tutoring has the same qualities and
aspects of home-based and face-to-face tutoring sessions. And, it is subject to
the same teaching approaches and methodologies. Developing a clear online
learning methodology means developing a methodology that would replace personal
physical contact, such as handling notes and materials; not a different teaching
philosophy. The same adopted and preferred pedagogy (educational method) is
applied to both home-based and online sessions.
Online tutoring takes place at the easy of
both the learner and the tutor, and would be the only difference from the home-based
tutorials I provide. It is time and space flexible. Therefore, learning can
happen anywhere and anytime at the desired comfort and convenience.
I do not offer online Live or Homework tutoring
as a fast food nor as a hit-and-go deal. I have never been, am not, and will
never be Google or Wikipedia such like an online tutor. There are plenty other
tutoring services out there that provide such kind of educational counselling
(both onsite and online). I endorse quality personal and professional long-term
relationships built on trust and friendship through which learning is best accommodated.
Thus, and having this in mind, you get to
know who I really am, how I tutor, my qualifications, etc. My personal online
identity is rather strong; you can find information in various academic, professional
and common social media. You do not get tutorials (either Live or Homework
Session) from just someone in a chat box or a video conversation room; an unknown
stranger in a virtual world. You connect with me; and my name is Ioannis
Tzortzakakis.
I hold two Bachelor’s and two Master’s degrees,
and I am firm supporter of lifelong education for personal and career
advancement. I have followed myself quite numerous seminars and webinars on teaching
methodology and on specific subjects. The subjects I am certified to teach,
and love to tutor are Art History, English as a Second / Foreign Language,
Modern Greek and Ancient Greek; all levels and educational stages. I have also
prepared with success many students, professionals and adult learners to
various standardized tests; AP, ACT, SAT, A Level, TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, and all
levels of Cambridge or Michigan exams.
With all that said, I would strongly
recommend that you claim your Free Online Live Session first! That would be a
great way to meet, get to know each other and discuss any potential future
collaboration.
Should you need any clarification or
further information, do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to meeting you.
Best regards,
Ioannis Tzortzakakis
